Avoid Sexsmith Rd. - Tracks

Post by marooned »

It will be great when those tracks on Sexsmith get removed. Always a site for debris from trucks and dumptrucks, this morning's event takes the cake. A recycling truck obviously hit the tracks at speed, and lost a good portion of its load of glass bottles. The roadway was white with glass, until the mess petered out at the highway. The driver then turned right (South), as that's where the glass returned!

Would hate to be a cyclist today.

He has been caught - it's the drivers fault not the train tracks

Smashed glass slows traffic! The shortage of suitable routes between Glenmore and Hwy 97 is highlighted yet again.
Hopefully when John Hindle Drive is open we will see a reduction in truck traffic on Sexsmith.
With Garbage trucks, we usually see only a greasy trail where the liquid from a dumpster are spilled on the roadway.
The rule regarding covered loads heading to the dump is not enforced so we see all sorts of crap on the roads around here but this definitely shatters the record!

Went through the area at around 10:30am this morning and it had already been cleaned up. You could tell they had a street sweeper go through.

From talking to coworkers who drove through/around it - This wasn't a few bottles. This was hundreds of pounds of glass covering hundreds of feet of roadway. Something must have jarred a back door open or something.

Maybe buddy deployed the ejection chute! Or maybe someone was tailgating and he exacted revenge.
