It was here too between 12 pm and 3:40 pm. Sun was out but dark heavy clouds were forming over Summerland and further down the lake.

This was from yesterday. Kelowna was the windiest place in the entire interior yesterday afternoon. You must have been a work or something. Trees were blowing like crazy.

Funny thing is that it's +0.9C at my house and snowing and +1.0C at the Vernon weather station (at Coldstream Ranch) and raining!

It's starting to snow in N. Glenmore. Mixed with rain but if it drops 1 more degree it will be full snow.

Yep - and the snow fell to prove it. Not a lot, but it is sticking.

The Farmer's Almanac predicts:
Winter will be slightly warmer than normal, with below-normal precipitation and snowfall. The coldest periods will be in early and late December, early and late January, and mid-February, with the snowiest periods in early and late December. April and May will have above-normal temperatures, with near- to below-normal precipitation. Summer will be slightly cooler and drier than normal, with the hottest periods in early to mid-June, mid- to late July, and early August. September and October will be rainier than normal, with near-normal temperatures.

I don't believe them/it. I think this will be a "snowmageddon" year again.

Accourding to NOAA:
Northern U.S.: Below-average temperatures (particularly northern Plains and Northwest) and above-average precipitation.

https://weather.com/en-CA/canada/news/n ... aa-updates

Okay, maybe not that bad accourding to: http://www.newswire.ca/news-releases/wi ... 72783.html
British Columbia – Colder than normal temperatures are expected across the eastern half of the province with near normal temperatures near the coast. The province will see an abundance of wintry weather with excellent ski conditions for much of the season, but this winter will not be as persistent or as severe as it was last year, especially for the south coast of B.C.

And then there is:https://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-blogs/anderson/canada-winter-2017-2018-outlook/70003021
--We currently expect weak La Nina conditions in the equatorial Pacific, which is expected to play a role in the overall weather pattern across North America during the upcoming winter. Keep in mind that if La Nina fails to develop, or ends up being stronger than expected, this would likely have an impact on this forecast for some regions.

With all available information, it looks like it is going to be a typical Winter here in Kelowna. Whatever "typical" means.

22 Days to Christmas.
