Not sure what the big deal is. The small town of Kingfisher on Mabel Lake has been dressing in drag for 61 years. Kelowna is just 60 years late to the game.

I dressed as a girl for Halloween when I was 12 years old.

Then I grew a pair and became a homeowner who could vote in this town.

*removed*

This town is still and likely will be for years to come, a "red neck retirement' town until the day that the gay population super cedes the non queer elements.

Guess who won't be mayor after the next election...

It's practically impossible to speak an opinion that sounds to not understand the mindset . Quite some time ago I asked what being in love with the same sex had to do with acting like a jack *bleep* on a parade float . Well , I got threatened in personal messages. We get it ,no one is saying don't be with your partner , marriage is allowed , awareness is all over media . Is there really so much work to be done ? The mayor dressing in clown make up actually tells me it's a less than serious cause .

were you drunk when you posted this?

what you're saying is that cities with strong lgbt community support, only have that support because the gay population has "replaced/taken over" the "non-queer elements"

Colin copped out.
I'm sure the picture tells more of the story than any written article has.

Colin is not dressed in drag.
He's dressed more like a mime.
He's also not wearing the wig that is so obviously meant for him. Perhaps his wife thought it was going a bit far, so she chose the wig for herself rather than see her "man" dumbed-down to such a level of stupidity.
What is the "mouth pose" all about?
Mr. Bubbles? Are they blowing bubbles?
Again it seems only one has the class to refuse participation.

I've got absolutely nothing against being supportive of the LGBTQ-RSTUVWXYZ community, but as stated by others, Trudeau did it with class. He dressed like Justin, acted like Justin and in the end, people appreciated him and respected him.

My final issue with this is:
Why on Earth did our city's mayor have to act like this to spite an online heckler? That's about as weak of reasons I'd ever like to consider for jumping on such a foul bandwagon.
The alphabet community should have seen this is offensive, but nope. He's as close to fame as they can muster locally, so he'll do. Eww.

I am absolutely astonished at the majority of these postings! I would gladly trade our mayor for yours...*bleep* Baker is once again trying to shut down the model aircraft club.

Be glad you have a younger, vibrant mayor...compared to Lake Country's crotchety, stick in the mud, old man Baker.

Get your heads out of the sand and realize people and times are changing. Be greatful you live in a country where the biggest concern in a persons life is the Mayor's appearance at the Sugarplum Ball! Geeesh!

Is it just me or does he look more Lieutenant Commander Data than anything LGBTQ? I'm a little disappointed he didn't actually dress in drag.
