Congratulations to the fine folks that put this on!
We only spent 1 1/2 hours their, but it was a nice break from chores.
And the band, Devon Coyote I think, finished it off nicely!
Good job all around, see you next year

Zac Gauthier...super good guy and an extremely talented drummer. Ron Cannan knows his way around a drum kit as well so I'm sure it was good fun.

I've only missed the Block Party once or twice since it started. I love the concept. It's a bit of same 'ol, same 'ol each year (right down to displays being in the same spot as the year before) but it's something to do. It brings the community together and it's free to attend. The little ones enjoy it too and that's good enough for me.

Hmmmm sounds like maybe not too many from the forum went.. I can remember when some of the forum members would meet for coffee downtown during that event.
It used to be called Mardi Gras...iirc......

I went . First time for me. Watched the My Kind of Karma. Always enjoy watching that group. Didn't stick around for Devon Coyote as I had to meet someone.

How publicized was it? I was working yesterday and we heard bits and pieces about it on the radio. One girl lives right downtown and she first found out about it when she hit the detour on her way to work. I listen to the radio regularly and I hadn't heard about it myself.

AM1150, Kelowna Daily Courier, Castanet, DKA, and a few others advertised it.

Awesome event, just one b*tch. Since they drew over 17000 people downtown and enabled everyone to experience all what downtown has to offer, you think just for one day they could have free parking.

I agree, although Chapman Parkade was free, as it is every Saturday. There were spots available when we arrived and when we left. One block from Bernard Ave.
