Re: Rock The Lake (Kelowna)
Budgets for this event I do not believe are HIGH $$$. Bringing in past big name bands from the U.S will suffer our exchange rate which will no doubt equate to higher ticket costs.........many will pay........many others priced out. Plenty of time for organizers to figure it out and hopefully keep any ticket price increase MINIMAL.

My wife and I and 6 friends went to Rock The Lake Friday. it was great. Kickaxe and Prism were very good and Loverboy knocked it out of the park..Everybody was singing the chorus of every song..We had a super time and we will be back next year

Sounds great, but I would rather the band sing. I know some people can't carry a tune and it is not nice!! LOL

The question was "what bands would you like to see next year?" - didn't specify Canadian, American or International.
Dance as if no one's watching, sing as if no one's listening, and live everyday as if it were your last.

Would appear that way but nothing wrong with people telling which band they'd like to see, even if it's an American import.

Re: Rock The Lake (Kelowna)
I agree, this event probably doesn't have a massive budget. And there's no shortage of bands that would be cool to see, but it's probably going to be Canadian bands, who tour in the summer, and wouldn't otherwise be headlining arenas. Trooper is a prime example of this; they play festivals and corporate events every summer, and their touring unit is very streamlined; they take less than ten people on the road, including the band members. That probably makes them fairly cheap to book.
As far as I can tell, Prospera Place itself (or rather, RG Properties) is the promoter of the event. Using their own venue and their own concessions brings their margins way up. With the event selling out on top of that, it looks to be a major cash cow.

More like headlining casinos and private corporate bbqs.
There won't be any Bryan Adams or Dire Straits bands for many years if ever at this festival.
The ignore list is a fine function... Reading or responding to fear mafia posts is a waste of time.

Does anyone know how many people did actually go per night? That was never released but would be interesting to know.

They figured on 3-4,000 per night but can't find any definite numbers yet. On the other hand, you can buy your tickets for next year.
