Coyotes are great animals and deserve to live just as any other creature on earth. If they became a nuisance in urban areas, it is only because of people. Take your pets in at night, or in general..keep a better eye on your pet.

I rather see those coyotes who venture into our neighbourhoods all shot.

You sound like the people who let their cat out at night. Never to return. Or the dog owners who let their dog out on an unfenced acreage. Never to return. I'd rather those pet owners got shot for stupidity.

You're in the country. City folk. Idiots.

Nothing finer than seeing a coyote wolf hybrid running at full pelt. Maybe a wolf but they're rare here.

Coyotes are extremely smart entities. They usually follow their food sources.

They follow and hunt easy food first.

Hey, who can blame them?

The city and outlying areas are a delectable smorgasbord for them.

Dogs, cats, urban chickens, rats, garbage...all for the taking.

Remove the source and the crafty hunters will look elsewhere.

Don't want fluffy or fido eaten? Bring them in at night!

If you HAVE to have chickens (and or other farm livestock) on your city property ( :-X :cuss: ) then build a proper

secure area for them and lock them in their coup at night!

Clean up and contain your garbage!

It also might help to remember Nature was here roaming this areas long before we were.

Coyotes are all over the West Kelowna area and they've been seen in Rutland. They have a good easy food source so good lesson is to take care of pets. Urban coyotes adapt extremely well and can jump 5 foot fences.

You are correct Voice. What will end up happening is that these creatures will have to be destroyed just like bears

who frequent urban areas.

I find that so sad.

We make it easy for them to survive and then we kill them for it.

They helped to keep down Kelowna's one time exploding rabbit problem.

And who started THAT problem folks?

You can bet irresponsible and uneducated people will start complaining that 'something needs to be done' and

a coyote hunt will be on.
