West Kelowna squeezed

Time for skyscrapers?
West Kelowna doesn’t have enough land, and that’s hampering efforts to build new recreation facilities, city hall, and more.
“Land is a big challenge,” Mayor Doug Findlater told members of the Greater Westside Board of Trade at a state of the city address, Thursday.

The point is West Kelowna doesn't have the land - no surprise there.
Truths can be backed up by facts - do you have any?

Re: West Kelowna squeezed
So, the soccer association gave their support, but... did they give monetary support? I'll bet they're happy to collect fees though.
Westbank, like Kelowna has *bleep* poor planning when it comes to space. Kelowna didn't even leave room for a frontage road, which would alleviate the cluster f**k that Harvey Ave. has become. Sexsmith to Paynter Rd. is just one massive strip mall. But yea, get more people to move here.

West Kelowna is already too big for it's infrastructure. Stop allowing West Kelowna too grow until roads and other needs catch up.

Re: West Kelowna squeezed
West Kelowna being squeezed
or
squeezing too many people into land West Kelowna already own
How many more people can be squeezed onto land that is already subject to water shortages and contamination, where the transportation routes are obviously not working the way they should
Decide how much land West Kelowna owns, talk to a planner that can tell you how many people per square acre the City can handle without undue pressure on resources.
Bring in some family doctors for the residents that are already here
Bring in a medical facility that can deal with non life threatening emergencies on this side of the bridge.
Attract specialists to West Kelowna for the residents that already live here.
Clean up our water systems
Clean up our streets
Look and act like a City

Good luck with that. I don't think council gives a damn, really. Just bring your money, spend it, and shut up.
Too many politicians on both sides of the bridge that want to look good, and yet, do nothing meaningful. I'm surprised we don't have rainbow crosswalks yet.

The WBFN will likely build the necessary facilities and rent them back!! Just wait and see.

Rose Valley, Smith Creek, Glenrosa, Boucherie, Vineyard estates, and then all the native land , West Harbour and whatever else they have going on, don't pay attention to lease land.
Pretty much the size of Penticton without the amenities.
