The Mystery of the Wooden Hearts

For over a year, possibly more, no matter the place in downtown Kelowna, I have come across small carved wooden hearts left in random places.

Waterfront beach, inside Blenz coffee on Bernard and the water park in the city park are three places where I have come across the small carved hearts. Left for a person to find. I have a small collection growing.

Has anyone else found them as well? Where are they coming from? Does anyone know who is leaving them around?
