Why would there be a response if they are allowed fires? isn't that what you've been arguing about the last 4 pages? That they are allowed and WFN just picks and chooses their laws because "natives" as you say have their own rules?

Jason IS the wkfd chief.

My apologies, not familiar with who Jason was.
There was probably a response because several people phoned it in.
If it were a ceremonial fire or a cooking fire and WFN was aware of it I am going to assume they would also notify WKFD so when they get the expected calls they would know what is going on with regard to that fire at that location.
I could be wrong, but that would be common sense.
Again, the natives are allowed to have fires on native land.
We have gone over that WFN has their own governance and requires advance notice, not all bands do.
If natives did not have their own rules why would they be allowed to legally have a fire and nobody else in the Okanagan?
If the bonfire the other night was not an approved fire by WFN as required, then as you have been arguing, native land has the same rules and regulations as non native land in terms of fires, were they fined under the zero tolerance policy?
I will see if I can find out, give me a day. Have to head out.
