That is why you want to pick your berries early.
The breeding bulge comes through Washington the 2/3 week in Aug. Later up here.
Also why a lot of the berry farms on the coast are for sale.
They are also in Europe, moving north through the wine producing regions at 1200Km a year.

If you have home fruit. pick early and often, boil any rotten fruit before composting.
