I take absolutely nothing from someone waiting a day (or whatever period of time) to report a personal attack of offense such as this.
There is one thing we can all count ourselves in on, and that is that we all have our issues.
Not one of us knows why this person waited, because not one of us knows what experiences this person has faced.
We all develop on account of our experiences, and sometimes the things we have lived through have effects that cannot be explained by logical reasoning.
Much like phobias, the illogical reasoning behind the actions or inaction of others cannot be related to by those lacking the experiences that lead to that action or inaction.
This is where empathy, compassion and caring
have to supersede our wanton need
for bashing, blaming or comparing.
