I think the gospel mission could very easily get more public support. All they would need to do is ask all the patrons to please stop hanging out on leon ave . Clean up the mess . The city has sacrificed leon ave basically since A&B sound closed.

I have long considered starting an urban renewal crew that will volunteer time to clean up messes like this. Much like OFTF with a bit of a harder edge.

If it moved out of the expensive downtown core a Drop In Centre could be near by, meaning ppl wouldn't just be hanging on the street all day.
I agree that if the GM patrons made more effort there would be more support from the Community.

What would happen if nobody shows up and they only get $2000 for their efforts? Would that not send a clear message to these do-gooders and the city hall that the mission should pack-up and move elsewhere and return the downtown area back to the taxpayers and business owners?????
