Fire trucks/ambuland/police - chute lake road

Post by paulo123 »

Witnessed 4 fire trucks, several ambulance and police racing up Chute Lake road around 11:30 today. Anyone know what was going on?

I also witnessed this happening. I was pulling out when a large fire truck was parking in Providence Ave. Moments later going up Chute Lake was everyone else, and racing describes it perfectly.
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

The fire yesterday was someone cleaning their oven when they were out. Not sure if it started a fire or what though.

As for the burn right now, has anyone confirmed that it's definitely slash burning?

Any smoke or glow in the hills from November - March is the result of either logging slash burning, forestry conducting prescribed burns or open burning on private property. Pretty sure we have this same thread every single year.

Slash piles can get huge.

Bunchers fall and bunch the trees for the skidder to drag them to roadside tree length.
Processors take the trees, limb, buck to length and cut out defect. The piles can get huge.. 30 feet high and 50+ feet diameter at the base.
