A serious query indeed Norma, the thing is, this debate has raged on in several threads, with everthing from civil liberties to authoritarianism being lobbed in the fray. They should go to ??? right exactly, to? But does downtown Kelowna, the fastest growing, most valuable city land, the highest sought after tourist area need to be inudated with the blight that has symbolized service cut backs, increased drug use and impossibly high rents?

So where indeed, do they go?

I would assume homeless people would not follow the service providers it they moved further out. Besides who would they hit up for coin?
We could just make it an offense to ask for money. Bell ringers, bus stuffers, store clerks, poppy sellers.
I'd often rather give to a homeless person that someplace Pattison ( annual sales over 8 billion) owns asking me for 2 bucks, then charging me 4 cents for a bag :/
Annual sales from my bag buying creeping that number up Jimbo

Ummm, this thread is about library security. I happened to be there yesterday and it was a quiet and peaceful place.

A new centre for homeless is opening at the old A and B sound building on Leon. There will be a warm place open during the day for those who do not have a home. Some of the homeless use the library to catch up on news by reading newspapers and going on internet. And some of them actually read books! Gasp!

Perhaps. I didn't actually see any security guards either, come to think of it. Parking patrol was there and a couple people got tickets for being parked on the brickwork and not in the parkade.
