Tree of hope, kinda out-dated looking....

Post by kelowna_proud »

In the last two decades, the Tree of Hope Foundation has given nearly $1 million to local charities and non-profits.

Awesome cause, does the City or Fortis put up any funding towards the setup or electricity?

Does anyone else feel the thing is boring/dated....After so many years of the same color, I hardly even notice it nor look at it when driving by.

Even the dancing Christmas tree on Fitzpatrick rd in Rutland kicks this big tree's butt.

What would it cost to get that baby blinking in sequence or the lights moving to the local radio or something?

Ill start the CASTANET FORUMNATOR list 1st:

Theres nothing the matter with havng white lights btw . Blinking colors and ridiculous flashing is best left for the weirdos that over decorate, and people would likely be complaining in the offices .

Lots of people here like to celebrate the holidays with whine.

I love the tree of Hope. Used to live practically beside it. It’s a lovely sight in the winter. Makes for some really nice pictures too. I’ve always enjoyed going to the ceremony when it starts.

I like the Tree of Hope, just how it is. Simple and beautiful.

Only in Kelowna/on Castanet could a long time corporate-donated community fund-raising Christmas tradition involving one of the founding symbols of Christmas - a tree of lights - be criticized. Wonders never cease to amaze.
