Depends who he's running against. Are they going to dig up Walter Gray a second time?

We've had more than one Kelowna Mayoral race that was virtually uncontested.

For all the complaints and insults toward him that I read here, I wonder if people's lives (including those who want him out) are actually better, worse, or the same since he took over.

People are stupid.
They'll vote for whichever campaign spent the most money, just like they did in the last election.

I don't know yet, would depend on campaign platforms and believability of the candidates.

Yup - I'm sure you will - there is always someone who runs around with their "eyes wide shut"!

I can see him being re-elected. He hasn't screwed up anything in a major way, city is growing, lots of development happening, so he'll have no problems getting re-elected.

Jlfem, I thought you said you left the province this summer?

Back in Kelowna just in time to vote?

Work out of province live here. Council and mayor appear to be on a sjw rampage. Someone needs to stop this. Wish i could run for council. Unfortunately i have a checkered past and would not be able to hold a position of public office. I got caught with weed about 10 years ago.

jflem 1983. If you have a checkered past you just might win because of it. You would be more normal and real than most of the other fake people who pretend they're perfect.

City Council is not unlike the Senate. You pretty much need to keel over dead or be accused of a major crime before anything changes. It is less to do with competence and more to do with the lethargy of the typical voters. They tend to vote for a name that they recognize, rather than go to the trouble of learning about potential candidates. This happens everywhere - not just Canada. How else could you explain Sonny Bono, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Donald Trump, Justin Trudeau, and many more?

Ronald Reagan, Clint Eastwood, Jerry Springer, Jesse Ventura, Al Franken, Will Rogers.....

All held political seats.
