i dont care if i have to walk 10 blocks but im not walking anywhere with my kid in tow that is going to bring us into contact with drugged out homeless people sleeping in doorways .i dont feel like answering questions about why it stinks like *bleep* in the alley between prospera and the old police station.the clowns at city hall dont seem to be able to put two and two together and realize that people dont want to walk along a path that you cant stray off of because the bushes are full of needles.clean up down town and the people will come down there.keep it a rat infested crap hole and nothing will change.i used to live by the capri and we would walk down to kerry park in the summer and listento the bands.back then the worst there was was some frenchies selling weed at the picnic tables and some indians sleeping on the grass.no big deal.no one really bothered anyone.now replace the weed dealers with meth and heroin dealers and the natives with the living dead shopping cart full of stolen crap homeless junkies.downtown went to crap.they have been working hard and spending money trying to bring people down there again but you can only polish a *bleep* so much.if i want to go out for dinner this city is full of restaurants.if i want to go for coffee there is a coffee joint on every corner .if i want to go to hockey rutland and west kelowna both have teams as well.there is nothing that downtown has that is not available anywhere else

The side street are a 2hr parking limit. Why not make it a 3 hour on event night. At least the parking patrol car can stay home. So you don't find a $35 parking fine after you have enjoyed a hockey game or other event. Mayor and council to allow developments to go ahead with not enough parking is lunatic. At least have enough parking for 1 parking spot per unit. I just do not understand the reasoning behind that. Why try to make Kelowna a mini Vancouver. Where is the long term view for the city?

Because some of us actually live here and that's our driveway. My street has very few alley spots so we have to use the road. We pay to park there and aren't guaranteed a spot. You're parking in front of my house for free and complaining about a ticket. It really sucks hauling a Costco load a block to my house because there's a hockey game but I deal with it because I love living downtown.
