Re: Public bathrooms
Takes all the fun out of slinging
I too think it is overpriced to put a replacement.
It is not like they have to start from scratch.
I do understand upgrades to bring up to todays codes.
There again, I think the costs of pretty much everything are way out of whack.
The tilt-up concrete bunker would be my way.
The City could design it to spec, then hold the rights to the design.
Contract out the build of the pieces and set up.
Build your Beach/Park bathroom.
Now sell the right to use the spec to other Jurisdictions and
Municipalities across the Country..
Sure fire way to offset the original cost of the first bathroom.
There, that should give people something to shoot at for target practice !

I too think it is overpriced to put a replacement. It could be. They may have spec'd a Cadillac and probably could be done cheaper. We are talking about the cost to construct the deign proposed.
It is not like they have to start from scratch. Worse, The have to demolish the old buildings first and upgrade all the services. Not cheap.

There again, I think the costs of pretty much everything are way out of whack. Yup
The tilt-up concrete bunker would be my way. May be but those have issues down the road with joint sealing

Re: Public bathrooms
Goodness a public washroom is a hot topic. Doesn't need to be fancy just functional, doesn't need outdoor showers which have a bit of a creeper drawing vibe. Hope they announce the hours and wouldn't want to be the first one walking in during the morning if it is open 24/7.
Of course most places in the Mission now have signs washrooms for customers only.. but I mean how many ppl use those bathrooms at Gyro in a day? Any one know?

Re: Public bathrooms
It would have to be a severe, biological, emergency before I would use one of these facilities. If I had to sit, I would learn the "hover" position very quickly.
has there been any mention as to frequency and decontamination level of these city paid for bathrooms?
