APARTMENT TYPE MONTHLY RENT SQUARE FEET
1 Bedroom
1 Bath $1249-1309 593

2 Bedroom
1 Bath $1419-1489 845 - 851

2 Bedroom
2 Bath $1499-1569 894 - 913

Looks like it'll help a little. Almost impossible to find a nice 2 bed suite for $1500 these days. They look fairly small tho.

Ridiculous prices for apartments - especially really small apartments.
Less than 600 sq ft is tiny.

add in parking and utilities and a 1 bed is over $1500 a month.

In October 2016, Highstreet was happy to receive the 2016 Small Business Award from the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce and more recently ranked on the 29th annual PROFIT 500 ranking of Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies. To date, Highstreet has developed over 25 projects, spanning 15 locations, and amounting to over 2500 homes. From one person working out of a home office, we now proudly have a talented team of 29 full time employees.

Nearest grocery store is a bit of a walk, if residents don't want to be dependent on a vehicle. So busing or driving to anything a resident needs.

What sucker rents in Kelowna anyway??? I remember when I was 21 I had to rent an apartment for $800 for a 1500 sqft apartment in Rutland. WORST 8 months of my life! Made me sick to my stomach handing those 8 brown bills over to the Land-Bastard-Lord

Bought a house for $210,000 and slapped down $70,000......My Mortgage is only $800 for Christ's sake........What i'm getting at is if my $140,000 mortgage is $800 how much is a $200,000 apartment? $1000 a month?

So... back around 2003 then? A lot has changed in the last 15 years. $420,000 these days get's you a run down shack if you can find anything at all, and owning a home is more expensive than just the mortgage payment.

I do agree - buying is best but a detached home just isn't in a lot of people's budgets these days. Folks in Kelowna need to start thinking like people in the big cities. Their goal is to own an apartment as only the wealthy can afford a detached home.
