Those "Top Employer" lists are a joke. Employers fill out a questionnaire. It's based on things like salary and benefits, number of bathrooms etc. It's not based on employee feedback and they have no way of gauging morale or if managers are idiots. A media company runs "Canada's Top Employers." It's actually a business and it's not unbiased. Businesses will say whatever they have to in order to get on the list.

Not true at all.
can you back up anything posted here?

I have personal been involved with many of these surveys watched all levels of staff complete them. I have seen the questions.

Nothing you have said in this post is even close to accurate.

Put it this way, if the Harvey Weinstein Company was Canadian, they would be on the "Top 100" list.

Sorry Hassel, but tchrtr is correct. I worked for a tech company and the stuff they made up to get on the top 100 list was incredible. All employees had use of the company condo at Silver Star (no one in the company knew about any condo on Silver Star), all employees had use of the company boat (no one in the company knew about any boat), all employees had use of the company condo on the lake (the lakeside condo did exist, but was not available, except under emergency), all employees received whatever training they wanted (I could never get any training), and the list goes on.

It was still a great company to work for, and I have no complaints, but it really is a contest to see which HR manager in which company can make up the most lies! It was used by the company I worked for to attempt to attract the best employees.

I agree with a lot of the comments posted. One thing that is evident about how IH is managed is the "bean counter" method they use to run healthcare. Yes, the new IH building is impressive and has combined many health practitioners in one location. The main issue is the time based method the practitioners are forced to follow. It is a very serious detriment to proper health care and is the management method used more for reconciling business's that are operating with a loss or ready to file bankruptcy. I see it in the comments and ways the health practitioners, such as doctors and nurses, conduct themseves at this IH facility. Regardless of what health issue you were referred to the IH facility for, the most common communication you are guaranteed to receive is "we do not have much time, because others are waiting" and "Sorry, we can't talk about other issues today. You will need to book another appointment." When you are booking appointments you re often told you will have a 1 hour appointment if you schedule it far enough ahead. Then, when the 1 hour appointment time arrives, you are lucky to have 15 minutes before the healthcare worker stands up and opens the door indicating the appointment is over. When you say I have other issues I need to dicuss and I thought I would have the time when booking a 1 hour appointment you get one of the responses I previously stated. I have heard of many health professionals leaving IH because the way it is operated does not follow the professional standards and oaths they swore to as a health professional. This way of operating a health care system is not uncommon, but it is the major reason provinces like BC and AB have been operating under such turmultuous conditions and unfortunately the younger health care professionals, just starting in their profession, are being trained to ignore the professional standards they just promised to uphold. I do not know Mr. Mazurkawick's background, but if it is of a financial nature he must be taught how to work with health professionals. "Best Management Practises" is common everywhere today in operations of service industries to construction. Obviously it is not being used in the BC Healthcare System. Time for the financial professionals to learn to be more human than analytical.
