IHA attempting to close Rehablitation Pool at KGH
The pool, which serves 130 people a day is being threatened with closure by the higher powers that be. This pool helps people with spinal cord injuries, post op surgeries, stroke patients to mention just a few ailments. The benefits of this warm water pool are incredible, helping people with their pain management and post recovery. Outside of Greater Vancouver (GF Strong) it is the only one of its kind in BC. With a hydralic pump that raises the mobile floor it is such an advantage for mobility issues. Once again IHA shows it doesn't give a rat's about patient care!

No it hasn't been made public yet but the Orthpaedic surgeons know about it, the out patient physio knows about it but the general public are unaware of it as yet. I use the pool 3 times a week. It was closed Dec 23rd for maintenance and now they are questioning whether they'll reopen it.

The closure of that pool would be tragic! Unless they rebuild the pool elsewhere and free up parking from away from KGH.

They can get that from the rent money they collect from all those houses they own around the hospital...
Oh .... wait ... they kicked all those people out .

That pool helped me alot when I was beginning to walk again after busting my ankle. It would be a huge loss.

That's under the assumption that they are actually thinking.
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

They're thinking if they save the money it costs to operate the pool they can pay themselves more! And if they can do it quietly, without any fuss from the pesky little people, all the better (for them)!

Typical NDP tricks.
Give teachers raises.
Raise the welfare checks.
Send Horgan on a all expense paid trip to Asia
It won't end folks.
Health care cuts are coming. This is just the start.
Christy's liberals were doing a great job until these clowns came in.
It's gonna get worse. Hang on tight.

This decision isn't being made by the NDP, it's being made by IHA. I would wager that very few of the decision makers at IHA are actually NDP supporters. I know it's hard to believe, but not every discussion needs to be diverted into partisan politics.

I wonder if the Castanet reporters couldn't get on this as a story to confirm or deny the pool's closure. Just saying.

It's a very rare one too. There is no barrier to getting into as you walk right out on to the floor and then the floor drops slowly taking you right into the waters. Very good for people with all kinds of conditions.
