Seems like some places are moving them along - the woman gone from Save On in the Mission.
I'm weaning myself from giving money and now offer to get them a coffee or something to eat instead.
Lots on Bernard, I don't get asked if I walk down Leon.

Wore a hat, big beard and collected cans? If so, he can be found at the roundabout at Casorso and Swamp Rd. He sits there quite often, and when he's not there, people actually leave bags of bottles/cans at the roadside for him to pick up, which he does with a scooter and trailer. He works and lives at a farm just up the road.

Saw the guy at Costco on Sunday by the Baron Rd entrance. Nicely dressed with a sign saying he was not able to work due to illness. I could have reached out and touched him he was so close to the vehicles on the passenger side. Right at the corner where everyone has to stop. Tired of them harassing people at stop lights, Cooper & Harvey is where I see them the most. Saw one young girl in front of the Safeway with a dog. She had a sign asking, and was eating the Chinese Food they have in their deli. Hubby said we should have bought dog food he felt bad for the dog not her. The dog was drooling watching her eat, every mouthful it had it's eyes on that fork.

I'm fairly certain it's the same guy. Used to see him all the time at that location on Enterprise. He used to sit on the sidewalk wall right in front of what used to be Crown Packaging. His name's Phil.

Noticed a woman in front of Nestors couple of weeks ago asking for money as she needed money for food. A good hearted guy gave her 5 bucks. Then she waited till he was gone and of she took of. Never went into Nestors to purchase food.

There used to be a guy wearing a pith helmet who was downtown in front of the Royal Bank.
Just about every night he could be found at the Casino.

I would like a job like that.

Interesting they seem to have their own spots. Guy usually around HSBC, speaks in tongues but very polite if he talks one to one
I'd starve I don't like to ask strangers for the time.

Most of the time he didn't say much, just sat there with his hat in his hands. Upside down of course with change in it, just to give you a hint.

One day I saw him go around the corner when a buddy showed up. He pulled a roll of bills out of his pocket that would choke a horse and gave it to his friend.

I Never give money to these types, they make more than I do. Too bad people fall for it.

I placed a self-imposed moratorium on all panhandler solicitations 12 years ago. It took a couple of years, but any feelings of guilt have now gone away and I feel much more confident and assertive when I say, "NO".

Kelowna really does have a lot of problems. Pan handlers are surely the most grievous. I am sure Mayor Sunshine will find a solution soon. In jail with the homeless no doubt.

I was out to get some lunch with a friend several years ago when we came across a panhandler asking for money for food. While we were at the restaurant, we decided to pick up and extra meal and a big cup of coffee for him. On the way back, we stopped and gave the panhandler the food. He thanked us and seemed happy with our gesture. I looked over my shoulder as we walked away and saw him dumping it all in the trash. Didn't even open the bag to see what we gave him.

I don't give any of panhandlers anything anymore. I'll happily donate to the food bank, SPCA or other charity instead.
