Lol - exactly. It’s like having a Sharon Shepherd back in office. Nothing but committees with fancy feel good names conducting studies and surveys producing useless numbers. But, at least it makes them feel like they’re doing something.

Maybe - but I think this whole “micro-suites” thing is getting a little out of hand.

Re: Homeless....living underground.
Makes me wonder if others are doing the same thing :(
A problem ( imho) is that there can be not solution if we are not willing to try different things.
I mean when suggestions are made there is usually an outcry of " that won't work because"
er, well why don't we at least try it? And I don't mean let us form yet another committee to study the problem.

Re: Homeless....living underground.
I agree...not sure the task force came up with any solutions? Time will tell!
I think a lot of folks are still naive when it comes to what life is like for someone who is homeless. Ask any Outreach worker or Homeless person and they will confirm that hiding their possessions( yes, one mans junk is another's treasure!) is the norm.
There are quite a few in my neighborhood and I would never expose them(unless their life was in danger) in fear they would loose it all....

Exactly how many have been conducted? This one is not "just another" but started over a year ago.

So you don't know? Ah and of course you didn't read up on this study either - it's not finished yet.
Nor did you read the article:
Journey Home Strategy development will continue in coming months, with a draft plan to be presented to council in June.

Re: Homeless....living underground.
Color me pessimistic, but I have high doubts a study group involving members of our civic government are going to miraculously solve the problem of homelessness that countless other groups and organizations in much larger centers throughout North America have not been able to resolve, so yes, just yet another feel-good study comprising pointless statistics.

There's always hope that this group have had enough input from the homelessness to make some suggestions.

Unfortunately I think it’s a problem that’s grown far beyond mere hope ever having an impact.

I agree!
I wish they would have questioned Outreach Workers!
Did they go into the Shelters and speak with folks there?
The questionnaire/survey they did hand out was a hit and miss and gave no accurate information.
Another waste of money and information.
Its not rocket science to realize we need low income housing!!!!
Just say it as it is!

What we really need is a national program that grabs ypung men off the streets. Puts them to work in good jobs. Jobs are the answer not social programs. Social programs hurt everyome. Jobs help everyone
