Perhaps there would be twice as many deer if not for the few coyotes
I have learned that to be with those I like is enough.

You do realize you've changed the topic. People aren't wusses to tell others of active wildlife in an area.

People are wusses covers a lot of different topics these days.
Here I thought there was nothing lower than a snakes belly in a rut in a ditch. I was wrong.

There are also moose and bear appearing - nothing wrong in making it known where they've been sighted. Deer could be a problem now with dogs invading their space in the hills now that it is fawn season. Be aware and take due care.

Where we live we have coyote, Whitetail and Mule deer, sometimes bear crossing through our property (we have bear scat in our driveway at the moment). Cougars have also been seen in the neighborhood We listen to coyotes yipping often day and night. We choose to live where they live. The coyotes usually run when they see us. We have animals kept in a fenced area of the yard and we try to be aware of what is happening every day. Love it here.

That's true - maybe there are some that should really understand what a coyote can do to a deer or pet. Certainly farmers on the coast got a horrible wake-up call letting coyotes den on the edge of their property only to find they had to put down a small horse one morning. Allowing coyotes to become complacent in an urban setting only asks for trouble. They can jump just about any fence around this area and owning a big dog doesn't help in deterring them from a smaller pet. Never mind they seem to be prevalent with mange which can transfer to dogs. Getting information out is always a good thing especially to those that aren't familiar with an area.

Nobody said there wasn't a chance of coyotes being there. But one shouldn't be shamed for posting about an active coyote in the area.

And coyotes carry ticks - another concern which was already mentioned.
The more coyotes around, the better the possibility of Lyme disease.

Great for the rest of the day I'll be singing Teddy bears picnic.
Our local coyote is lazy as sin. He's pretty thing and I see him heading to the creek

An active coyote isn't always a vocal one. Anyone walking on trails anywhere needs to be aware of their surroundings. It's the ones you don't hear that can be the most dangerous.

When you hear one calling for his buddies, you know there is more than one.
Carry a big stick, leash your dog and don't walk alone.
