I fail to see the reason behind starting a thread about a tragedy and poking fun. I can't imagine how the owners will feel losing all their pets (never mind their home).

No one was inside the home during a fire that completely gutted a house near McCurdy Road.

Multiple animals died in the blaze Platoon Captain Kelly Stephens, with Kelowna Fire, tells Castanet.

At about 1:30 p.m. the property owner says he drove by the house and 'didn't see anything.'

The family who was renting the home has not yet seen the damage that has occurred.

"They did a primary search and found four dogs, one cat and a duck that had unfortunately perished in the fire," Stephens said.

this is horrific losing 6 animals in a house fire...

can't imagine how bad the family is hurting...

- they were so beautiful - I hope they were all together when they crossed the Rainbow Bridge....

In the "old" days we left our pets outside during the day. or when we weren't home...these days somebody would likely steal or hurt them so they are often left inside. How do you keep them safe from this if a fire breaks out and you aren't home? Even if you have a doggie door would they know to use it or would they run and hide under something.....just can't imagine their loss, so sad.....

Renters insurance does exist you guys know?
They aren't homeless, they'll just be living the hotel life for a few months which is all covered by various resources.
Low income family, yet they had 6 pets, some people.

The goFundME page is ...like...less than a $1000.00. Maybe, ppl r "tired" of sending donations after the Humboldt trajedy?....jus gotta be blunt. Also,.....maybe ppl figure..."if ya aint got insurance, even rental insurance,...why should i donate to a cause, where the renters left a LAUNDRY dryer goin when NOT in the house?"....jus sayin. (I...NEVER LEAVE my house w. an appliance going....that's jus DUMB as ) Jus tellinya like it is....
