He sure doesn't sound good from what I saw on TV. I fail to see why people would pay for that..

It would be nice to hear from somebody who was at the concert. I drove by SOEC around 10:30 and it was packed, so I know somebody went....

I would suspect the sound from News coverage was from the camera mic & not directly plugged into his onstage mic.
Just a guess
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to under estimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

I was there, my 3rd Mellencamp concert and I wasn't very impressed.
Voice was hoarse sometimes, did an acoustic version of Jack & Diane and Small Town, failed to sing Hurts So Good (among a few other big ones) and most importantly, didn't do an encore!???
