Penticton's New Communication Officer

The City of Penticton has hired a new Spin Doctor. Her name is Simone Blais and her last job was a reporter with the Penticton Western News. I hope she is good at her job as Council needs the help getting their message out.

Giant's Head - I'll bet you a dollar that the result of a new communications officer for Penticton will be MORE information coming out to the public, not less. The information will be presented better, messages will be more concise and timely. Communications officers are not interested in hiding information - quite the opposite.

I have been very impressed since the Eckhardt Ave fiasco with the city's commitment to an open government. Sure they are taking the lead of Crusty Clark's fiberals, but on a municipal level I actually think it's working. Kudos to Ashton and Co. for putting their $$ where their mouth is. Simone Blais will be a great asset to the community, let's just hope the city can afford it. :p
