The point being that if one is taking steps to distance oneself from the pump/teat then the bottom line at home will fare better than before. The writing has been on the wall for fossil fuels for a long time now despite the fact that many just don't want to read it. The decline of gasoline as the fuel of choice is inevitable, whether it be due to price, lack of supply, or its environmental cost is still to be decided but the day is coming. Our choice at this point is to either prepare for the coming change or to keep on wimping and whining about the way things "should" be. Realistically, which choice do you think will have a more successful outcome?

Rode my bike to Summerland this morning (Sunday, June 10). Noticed gas prices of 130.9/liter in Penticton, 127.9 in Trout Creek, and 126.9 in Summerland. Still too big a difference in Penticton.

Yeah, checked on Gasbuddy and the prices seem to drop as you head north. Best deal is in Kamloops, hanging around the $1.15 mark.

According to- day's Province newspaper, Costco in Vancouver is selling gas at $1.02 a liter , apparently local chevron and Esso stations have followed suit.

Penticton, meanwhile is at $1.27 and change.

And spare a thought for the residents of Haida Gwaii who pay $1.61!!..ouch.

We need a Costco!!
