Egg-zactly. Just ignore em. I would like to hear your thoughts on the city choosing Option 4, Cliff. (and I thank you for all your effort into this project; without you, we would likely be 7 mil MORE in debt). The city had no intention of anything but options 1 and 2, until you, and the public spoke up. I would like to see them use the existing bricks in the whole plan, if possible; no sense wasting them; or at least use them somewhere else in the city; they are still in great shape. I believe the new plan is for a 4 meter wide pathway, which might include a cycling path? Thats really not too wide if you ask me; but perhaps its wide enough for all. They will likely just pave the entire path then, though I still wonder about tree roots in the long run. Still think that those bricks could be useful for part of the walkway.

Just my own two cents but I respect and appreciate the fact that you stood up against the special interest crowd and City staff who wanted to forever alter a waterfront that we all enjoy. Thank you for that. My only suggestion is that you can still voice an opinion and add constructive input into a discussion without having to attack others who may have a different point of view. Think it over but I would like to think you can still add your views on things in a less hostile tone.

Personally I think that Clifford was a special interest group upon himself. 150 people of 42,000 does not make a majority ... Just sayi'n! I do however agree with the city's decision to continue with the other improvements in small steps each year in the future instead of ignoring that area as it has been for the past 15 years.

I agree, small steps over the coming years when funds permitt. That is why there is relevance to some of the grander plans and why whatever the design of the pathway portion of improvments ends up being, it should be scaleable to a longer range goal.
Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

If we could just tax "stupid", there would be no government deficit

Let me get this straight…James Miller’s editorial of Nov 12th, 2012 states that Penticton City Council had chosen a Lakeshore upgrade worth $1.2 million. Now, less than 4 months later, I read in the Penticton Western News that the project now has a budget of $2.125 million and is in need of an oversight committee to ensure that costs don’t go even higher.
Did I miss something? When did the project budget double? I would suggest that rather than an oversight committee, Council should stop the project right now and throw it back to the planning department for a more realistic forecast.
