I think the WTC is smarter than that (to seek revenge). They must know by now that Kelowna would have a VERY hard time getting the necessary volunteers. They can't even muster up the amount needed for the Apple Triathalon, let alone an Ironman race. Without volunteers, it doesn't run; and with Penticton sticking to that date, I doubt many Pentictonites would volunteer in Kelowna on the same day as the Challenge Race. At least with Whistler there would be no shortage of new blood in the volunteer ranks. I disagree that holding it there would hurt the Challenge race. Folks come to the Okanagan because of the Okanagan. Whistler is a totally different area.

Exactly!!! And you cant be in 2 places at once and alot of athletes will like the new courses in whistler and if they are on the same day (ironman and "challenge") I think alot of people will try something new and a new challenge so to speak in whistler!! how are numbers looking now for challenge?

Unless you haven't noticed, the loss of Ironman is a SYMPTOM.

You know when this place was cool? When my American Cousin was filmed.

Guess what? Just because the same folks that stared in that movie are now in "assisted living" means that we have to keep on re-living Elvis Presley - and those ridiculous mutton chops.
