Summerland firefighters extinguished a a fully-engulfed car that was abandoned in a ditch along Princeton Summerland Rd. at around 12:45 Saturday morning.
Asst. Fire Chief Chad Gartrell said that the vehicle was completely burnt up by the time they got the call and that due to extensive damage the make and model could not be easily identified.
The cause of the fire could not be determined but it is believed no one is injured as a result.
Who just walks away from their car burning especially after it is "abandoned" in the ditch?

Seems to me there's been a lot of "burning cars" recently - especially in Kelowna.

Re: Burning car found in ditch
I know.
Maybe someone was being followed.
Forced off the road.
Taken at gun point.
Kidnappers threw a match or six into the car.
And no one knows who was really driving.
Maybe not even the owner.
OR.
Driver got in trouble.
Pulled over.
Good Samaratian stops to help.
Takes said driver to the hospital.
And the car caught on fire from a cig left in there.
OR.
Good Samaritan isn't so good afterall.

I know the area well. It was an alien death ray that started it and the owner is now with THEM.

I don't know the area. Is this a remote location?

Yep. Gravel backroad to Princeton. Once you pass Faulder there's nobody till you get to Osprey Lake outside of Princeton.

You're right.
The car is stolen.
Driver was kidnapped by aliens.
Heat of the UFO set it on fire.
Driver returns once The 4400 can be made a reality.
Driver returns with super powers.

This begs the obvious question...

Re: Burning car found in ditch
Easy, the Natives stole it, ditched it, and burned. Seriously, I'm not being racist.
My brother had his car stolen last summer from Penticton. It was found along the road, (unfortunately) not burning and basically still able to run. The police officer told him that this happens a lot - they steal the cars from Penticton and end up on the back roads of Summerland, along the Summerland-Princeton road, Isintok-McNally road or the Summerland-Penticton road.
We quad along those areas a lot. You'd be surprised at how many abandoned vehicles (and garbage) is out there. Oh, and there are no homes from Faulder to Osprey Lake (except a couple), however it's a very busy road, lots of camping spots, the Trans-Canada trail and plenty of trails for 4x4'ing, quadding, snowmobiling, hunting or hiking.
Anyways, you get the idea, a burning car along there is no big deal.. unless, of course, it's summer and it's tinder dry out there.

I got it.
Double Murderer had the car set up for his getaway.
Didn't figure on having to shake the RCMP dogs as fast as he had to.
Ran for it.
Got away.
Made it back to the car but figured someone might remember it near the complex where he murdered the pair.
Drove it up to said area, lit it on fire when his pick up came to get him.
They drove all night thru the Summerland-Princeton backroad.
Car breaks down, they have to break into someones cabin by Osprey Lake to spend the night.
Or,
Who knows if even he wasn't done in himself by the pick up.
Maybe a body will be found somewhere on the Summerland-Princeton backroad.
Intrepid photographers who stop to photograph everything in sight make a grisley discovery.
Photograph the scene.
Make a bee-line for the nearest RCMP detachment. Download photos on UBS stick.
Photographers move to Nova Scotia.
