Re: Fire
Took a swing by there on the way to the grocery store, it's coming out of the forested area across the channel from Skaha Ford and the old railway bridge. No flames visible from the road, but lots of smoke. I imagine there's a good supply of old leaves and such in there.

The Kamloops Forest Fire Centre says they are sending an initial attack crew to investigate a column of smoke near Penticton.
Fire Information Officer, Michaela Swan says, "The Penticton Indian Band has requested help with a brush fire at the corner of Sage and Westhill Rd."
Reader Joanne Finn says, "I'm in Naramata. From here it is Southwest of the Events Centre in heavy bush/trees, so likely PIB land. Looks like they've got it knocked down. Still a good plume of smoke."
We have a reporter heading to the scene; more to come.
