Okanagan Lake waterfront pathway redevelopment 2013/2014

Post by nepal »

.
The redevelopment of the new pathway and landscaping along Penticton's Okanagan waterfront is well underway.
.
Just wondering, will the wide new grey concrete sidewalk stay that way, or will it have a more attractive surface or color added to it? It looks like an awesome high-speed skateboard and rollerblade sidewalk the way it is shaping up now.
.
The old brick and rough concrete sidewalk looked aesthetically nice, was textured and thus was a deterrent for skateboards and rollerblades, which may not mix well with pedestrians. I could also see the big peddle-carts using it when finished.
.
They could inexpensively add a sand-color powder into the concrete mix, to match the color of the beach sand and also texture the surface.
.
Just wondering if there is more to the plan?

Well Napal .. We could add lanes so the seniors on their electric scooters don't run over those annoying skate boarders and skaters. Pretty big jump that new sidewalk equals problems with kids.
