My compliments to the police and those who worked with the investigators to see charges laid two years after the murder took place.

According to the RCMP a dispute between two groups of men apparently led to the death of 24-year-old Nicholas Larsen early on the morning of June 1, 2011.

Police made that announcement Monday morning at the same time they announced the arrest of two men in connection with the death of Larsen, who lived in Sorrento.

Nicholas Larsen, 24, was shot and killed in June 2011.
Jeremy Wayne Davis, 24, from Williams Lake and Jordan Larry Barnes, 27, from Mission were both arrested last week.

Both have been charged with second degree murder.

Davis was arrested outside his Williams Lake home this past Thursday while Barnes was taken down in Kelowna the following day.

"A search of Davis' residence in Williams Lake was carried out after the arrest," said RCMP Insp. Terry Kohlhauser, senior investigating officer with the Southeast District major crimes unit.

"Fire arms of interest to this investigation were seized."

Larsen was killed during a drive-by shooting shortly after midnight on Blind Bay Road.

"Upon arrival it has been determined a male had been targeted and shot several times while riding in a car which had been forced off the road by another vehicle while travelling on Blind Bay Road," says Kohlhauser.

"The male died shortly thereafter on a nearby friend's property."

The announcement of the arrests were made Monday morning at the Kelowna RCMP Detachment.

"The reckless, calculated decision to murder Nick over something as trivial as a verbal confrontation has forever changed the lives of so many innocent people. We believe you are exactly where you deserve to be," said Shelley Larsen in a prepared statement.

"Jordan Barnes and Jeremy Davis. I only hope one day you will be able to comprehend the devastation, chaos and immense pain the murder of our son created in my life, that of Nick's father, brother, sister, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and friends."

She went on to say that, while there will never be closure, a weight has been lifted from our lives knowing those believed responsible are now before the courts.

"Jordon and Jeremy for the first time in three long years our family has felt a moment of peace and elation at the news of your arrest."

Kohlhauser was unable to provide much information concerning motive or events which led investigators to Davis and Barnes stating the matter was before the courts and would come out at a later date.

He did state Larsen was acquainted with one of the suspects and did dispel rumours of a gang connection.

Both men were scheduled to appear in court Monday, Davis in Kamloops and Barnes in Kelowna.

While arrests have been made, Kohlhauser said police are still interested in additional information people may have regarding the murder of Nicholas Larsen.

Anyone with information can contact their local RCMP Detachment or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

To wanderingman ...

Given the severe restrictions placed on the police by the rewriting and reinterpretation of the Canadian Bill of Rights (aka charter) by PETs hand picked and appointed extreme left wing judges I am surprised that the police find a way to solve the number of murders and other serious crimes that they do.
