Re: Death in Armstrong
As many people contend, jail offers little more than preventive detention for people who murder others.
To talk of VOLUNTARY rehabilitation as an alternative is like discussing a cure for cancer. The knowledge required to cure all types of cancer, at the moment, simply does not exist in reality in spite of the millions being poured into the "search for a cure". There is precious little being spent on a cure for the many types of criminal behavior and many of the required studies are blocked by our complete preoccupation with "human rights"... regardless of how heinous that behavior may be.
Although locking criminals up until they "cure their behavior" is similar to locking up people with cancer until they cure themselves, we continue to have to have to do so as a means of keeping society safe ... at the moment the collective ignorance of the Criminal Court System offers no alternative. Sad but necessary.
