There Comes a Time

Post by Martin_Herrigan »

'Your Majesty, your Majesty,,the wealthy are revolting.
"No, no,, they smell like money".
"Yes, very nice your Majesty, what I meant was, your Majesty, their servants are demanding a ' living wage ' for their services to the wealthy".
"Right then, we can't have that, it's time for a little manipilation, contact the Pope and the World Leaders".....
To be continued.

In 1973. In Northern Ireland, I was told , "If you can keep your citizens in a state of insecurity,
they will not be demanding a better standard of living,
and you can manipulate their social behaviors as needed".

First and foremost, security and insecurity are constant, near or ' fear', companions,,, you decide.
Always try to be aware of WHO manipulates your social security, or the lack there of.

Martin is much more polite than I.

Toughnut - your views are old, outdated, and old fashioned. You are surrounded by the next generation, or probably two that will see change in this world come to fruition. Right wingers like you are in the hot seat now. Sorry. Time to retire. The world is ours now :skippingsheep:

DON'T TELL ME,, YOU CARE

Mansions, limosines and wealth
beyond compare.

Workers bent and broken, children hungry,
in deep dispair.

Head held high, distain, with eyes of ice you stare.
Don't tell me,, you care.

I was shocked when I went to the brief "Occupy Vernon" demonstration in front of the museum/library. I asked a few of the people there if they voted in Federal and Provincial elections and was surprised by the number who said that they never have.
If these people did a little research into the major parties and took the time to vote, or even better if they got involved with a party, they'd make some changes.

I too am shocked, at the number of people who do vote and know not why they vote. Then there are those who vote and know why. And I am still shocked that there are still people who are willing to believe that their vote is important. I do vote, not because I believe there is value, but because I believe the principle deserves respect. The truth is, as the system is now, you don't need to vote, unless you have no other way to buy the slate of the chosen candidates placed before you. Over 35yrs of false promises and a display of sheer contempt for those who 'voted' for them. It is no wonder the people are starting to see through the veil of deceit.

I am shocked at the number of people who think that who they vote for can change anything. Until a new party forms who understand that they are the Stewart's of OUR money , nothing will change. It doesn't matter if the Conservatives or Liberals are in power , they will still gouge us for whatever they can get , overpay themselves and all those associated with / or working for the government , and then squander the rest.

Does an MP who takes a limo to a $400 lunch with a couple of associates really understand , or care about the people who have to pay that bill , most of whom can't afford $400 per MONTH for groceries.

The entire political system in Canada has to change , not just the party in charge.

I can't really identify with the folks camping out at the Occupy tent cities , as many of them are as useless and expensive to the taxpayers as the government. They do have a point though , the rich are too rich and the rest are too poor. If someone is smart enough , lucky enough , hard working enough to become wealthy then good for them but they should pay their fair share of taxes too. My problem is when those same wealthy people are running our government and spending our money as if it just falls from the sky like snow.
