Re: Avalanche near Keefer Lake
This area sits on the border of two forecasting boundaries, the South Columbia region and the Kooteney Boundary region. Here are the CAC bulletins for both regions for this weekend.
South Columbia - http://www.avalanche.ca/cac/bulletins/l ... h-columbia
Kootenay Boundary - http://www.avalanche.ca/cac/bulletins/l ... y-boundary
Please be extremely cautious out there. And as long as this post is young, please do not resort to shaming the victims or others involved.
There currently sits a very troublesome weak layer from February 10th to 12th that a lot of snowpacks are failing on. With the recent warm temperatures the chances of a slide increase tremendously. Anything above a 30 degree incline is bad news right now if you're exposed.

Re: Avalanche near Keefer Lake
I just read who the victim was , and am stunned. I know him from work at VJH . AJ was a truly nice guy and consummate professional who was absolutely dedicated to providing the best of care to the most critically ill of patients.
He will be missed by everybody.
