Re: Eco Fees
it's not a fee, it's a tax and there is no rhyme or reason to it. It's simply a tax grab disguised as a fee.

carbon tax, plastic bag fee's in grocery stores, eco fee's on tires, batteries, etc.
its been a government tax scam for years.
all money taken for no results given.
why is a recycling bag double the cost of a garbage bag?
go to the Vernon/Armstrong dumps and you have to sort garbage yet a dump truck doesnt.
in the end its all the same hole it goes into.
just more ways to tax extra when possible.

fund useful programs or tax consumers for no return?
where does the 5 cents a shopping bag go in grocery stores?
it goes to the store as a profit.
so some brain surgeon in the government came up with a plan to charge for shopping bags, for what reason?
so grocery stores now dont even have to supply a few free bags when you spend hundreds of dollars?
wonder if the guy that started that happens to be a owner of superstore?
extra tax on fuel to off set carbon?
the government is the biggest profit maker off fuel they should pay the carbon tax.
no difference with the government suing big tobacco companies, the government has been the biggest leach in tobacco sales for years, we should sue them.
fine charge a tax but give us something in return, seems Christy just gets a bigger charge account.

I don't know about grocery bag fees, but eco fees charged on electronics fund local electronic recycling programs. Doesn't go to the company, doesn't go to Christy Clark. Same with light bulbs in question.

The information on which environmental programs these fees fund is readily available including participants, locations, obligations, and life cycles of said electronics. But it seems to me you're not interested in learning new things since it would get in the way of spewing your mindless drivel. Keep on truckin'.

Man are you wrong. Eco fees go into a completely separate fund not general revenue. They are used to fund recycling programs in communities. Who do you think pays the guys that sort through all the crap you put in your blue bin? Who do you think pays for the guys to dismantle your old stove or fridge? Who do you think pays for the guys who grind up your old tires or milk cartons? The good fairy?
