The Liberals stand for substandard wages and benefits.
All employers should have to make pension contributions.
The Liberals are the party of big bucks and big business.
No choice but the NDP.

no govt. should interfer with the construction co. , workers.,or any union govt, they want to work and not make the union muckie mucks ritcher.

There has to be balance. Workers rights are very important and we have to make sure we aren't exploiting them. People need money to live and full time work should be enough to provide a comfortable living. On the other hand you can't pay huge amounts of money on labour that you can't cover the cost of. If an employer is losing money it won't be long until noone gets paid. Neither the NDP nor the Liberals holds the "right" view. They both have good and bad points.

That's exactly right, and is also the biggest problem with the NDP modus operandi. They wish to have as many public sector union members as possible, because they figure government will always be around, and they'll never have to worry about a paycheck.

In one breath they gripe and moan about BC's debt, or insert province flavor of your choice, yet in the next they believe their people are always entitled to reap far more tax dollars and benefits than the masses footing the bill.

Do you honestly think all the hoopla over education is honest concern for our children? I don't buy that for a moment because if it was they wouldn't use our kids as negotiating pawns for starters.

Our education system actually ranks very high insofar as achievement scores go, so what that tells me is that backroom deal made with the BCTF that went to court for eons now, is simply another push to bolster the union ranks by another 1,500 teachers. It'll be very interesting to see if achievement goes up to show for it, something I also highly doubt.

The NDP's reason for being, is to find fault in any area that might give them an excuse to justify more hiring for the BCGEU.

If there isn't an actual problem they'll make one up, and one thing you can always count on, is that it will presented as being in the best interests of ordinary people.

I have spent 50 years in construction. Its about freezing your skin in the winter burning your skin in the summer. Standing in mud up to your knees in a trench. Pouring concrete all hours of the day and night. Living by a work schedule that you know can not be made. Its about stripping concrete forms off and showing the world what you built. Its about climbing out of the mud and turning the water back on to peoples homes. Ita about looking at the new pavement that you burned your feet on the day before and you move the barricades over and let the traffic on it for the first time. Its about operating equipment all day and getting in your truck to go home but you want to drive by and look at what you did. The people with the hard hat and rain gear holding the hammer are and always will be the construction worker everyone else is a pretender.
