The two provincial premiers who are tied at the top (if you can call 52% "at the top") are the rookies. A general rule of thumb is that the longer you're in power the harder it is to keep your approval ratings high. George tells us that Horgan is going to keep getting more popular by the day but I think not! He's made too many promises that he can't keep and people aren't going to like that. NDP'ers on here don't mind him breaking his promises but the public in general, i.e. the non-NDP majority, will not be pleased!

Six Canadian premiers have approval ratings lower than Donald Trump, according to a new poll released by the Angus Reid Institute.

The U.S. president, who famously broke records for low approval in his inaugural year, currently has a 40 per cent approval rating. By contrast, at least 50 per cent of Canadian premiers cannot claim approval ratings of more than one third.

The biggest issue that can bite Horgan is whatever tax/fee, who knows what they'll name it, gets put in place to replace the bridge tolls that were removed. If that gets put in place before next election, he is done.

I just love the delusional die-hard dippers on here that truly believe that Grinning Johnny and his circus sideshow actually "won" the election.

We wouldn't even be having this discussion at all if the Conservatives hadn't run a candidate in Comox. [icon_lol2.gif]

Even with a leader as unpopular as Christy Clark had become the BC Liberals still managed to win more seats than the hapless NDP whose election stats are a woeful 0-5 since 2001 and the next election will undoubtedly see those stats become 0-6.

Keep drinking that orange kool-aid.

http://www.timescolonist.com/opinion/columnists/les-leyne-budget-s-warm-glow-becomes-a-fast-burn-1.23206341

"Budget’s warm glow becomes a fast burn"

It turns out the NDP government’s first full budget had a delay fuse in it.

The tax-and-spending plan was cautiously well received for the first few days, as people calculated all the goodness to flow from “historic investments in child care and affordable housing that will be felt for generations.”

Then the full import of the speculation tax and the employer health tax sank in. Boom!

In the space of a week, headlines switched from “Relief for lower income families” to “NDP destroying B.C. again.

SNIP

"In the meantime, they’re relying on a favourable poll taken before the fuse was lit, and consoling themselves by reading supportive letters into the record."

So, Horgan's favorable rating is an illusion.... it was before the massive fluff up that is the so called budget.

There won't be an election until the fall of 2021. The BC Libs have a lot of ground to cover and a lot of looming scandals to survive over the coming years.

The only party to ever experience being "wiped and flushed" would be your precious NDP.

Looking forward to providing them with the second such experience.

We've been hearing about all these "looming scandals" for ages. When are these "looming scandals" going to come to light. According to one of your NDP posters it was going to happen as soon as the NDP were elected. Liberals were to be sent to jail in short order for corruption, etc.

Well, it's getting close to a year, and I'm still waiting patiently for your "looming scandals" to make the news.

It's wonderful when the NDP support it. Terrible if the Liberals support it. That's how this works HG.

How do you figure he "won" the Premiership??????
He (to use a US Political term) colluded with the Greens and got their support. In no way was he elected by the majority of the voter turnout. If he had been, he would not have needed the support of the Greens to get into power.

He wrangled the Premiership, he certainly did not win it.

Personally I think Johnny Boy's ratings are up based only on promises... Eventually he is actually going to have to try and make those promises come true, which as anyone with a 1/4 of a brain and grade 3 math can see, if financially impossible without huge tax increases, and major funding cuts.
Love how he walked around yesterday bragging on how they're going to pump through an additional 4000 surgeries, followed by the nurses statement on they don't have enough nurses to do the surgeries now, let alone an additional 4000.

Just imagine how much good 4000 brain surgeries could do. [icon_lol2.gif]
