Is there a way to construct a Will to keep probate on the lower side?

I'm no legal expert by any means, just have been an executor of my dads estate. You can reduce probate fees by putting large assets such as houses in joint name, such as a grown child. The house will not go through probate as it will become the property of the survivor and can also be sold right away if it's wished. RRSPs and life insurance also do not go through probate, only non registered accounts and investments. One could also think about putting vehicles in joint names or gifting a vehicle If the person is still lucid, but knows death is imminent and therefore the car wouldn't go through probate either. A person's estate only needs to go through probate if the assets total more than $25,000.

I'd like to change your mind, but I don't have a fresh diaper.
