Here's a few more for ya....
Kit's Pub
Tommy Africa's
Diego's
Systems
Graceland
Vancouvers Tonight
The Side Door
I used to bounce at the Luv Affair...from about '89 to early '92. Met Brian Adams there (cool story), Depeche Mode, most of the 21 Jump Street cast, including Johnny Depp.
Prior to that, used to hang out 1st at the Body Shop, then Outlaws and Kits Pub.
Btw, anyone recall the club in New West during the 80's? It was upstairs, I recall that much.

The name is familiar but the memory is blocking the location..
It was near the Ritz Hotel, that's about as much as my memory serves, lol.
On the same street as the Cave but on the opposite side and closer to Georgia? Like stumble out of the Ritz bparlour and you were there? Think I remember a club being there.
Wish I could remember, I think it was about a block away, wasn't on Georgia but was about a block west of Georgia. Who knew the memory would fade like that, eh?
Will ask friend with less oldsheimer when it comes to remembering. There was a club on Burrard which was a hot spot and I am thinking that was the one. Beside the cathedral. If you did not get there by 8 chances are you would not get in unless you knew someone. We used to meet at the Ritz and park on Hornby street and then walk down the alley to Burrard.
Funny how times change. Today we are all about restricting how many establishments are in an area. Back then there was in this area alone 5 clubs, 2 beer parlours, 3 lounges, and several licensed eating establishments within a 2 block radius and this was not unusual. Many a night was spent going from one place to another depending on music and who was where. Most stayed open until 2 am and then you would hit an after hours club.
I remember them using the law to their advantage. You used to be able to stay open sent number of hours like 6 or 8 hours. So you had some clubs opening at 8 and closing at 2, others went from 10 to 4.
ithought the body shop was on burrard or howe street between robson and smithe.

Holy moly.... what a trip down memory lane.
My favorite haunts were (circa 1986-1989ish):
Gators (later became Frank's Place)
Sillouttes
The Breakers
The Reef (it was then run by Nick Kinisky, Gene's son).
Kits Pub (on Broadway and the one in New West)
The Unicorn
86 Street
Richards on Richards
The Big Bamboo
Soft Rock Cafe
Club Soda
It would appear that I was somewhat of a bar fly. :dyinglaughing:

Baceda's on Hastings. I think the owner was Danny Baceda, could be wrong.

Dick's on Dick's. Yup, certainly can't forget that one night of extravagant pretentiousness.

Might be getting my cities mixed up as I bounced around between Edmonton and Van a lot in the 80's and had memberships to a lot of "private clubs"
was it called the industrial eclipse?
A typical wingnut, sporting an attractive bright zinc plated finish.Note that the right wing is diametrically opposed to the left wing, but otherwise identical.
