Anyone remember hurricane Freda (or something like that). 1960s blew down tonnes of old growth on the north shore mountains in Vancouver

It looks like hurricane Oho could be about to give BC the ride of her life. Here's the picture from The Province:

It hit the north coast. It was pretty windy last night in the Okanagan (34 km/h at my house).
Here's how strong the wind gusts were on the north coast:
Green Island = 153 km/h
Kindakun Rocks = 131 km/h
Triple Island (not to be confused with Triple 6) = 130 km/h
Lucy Island = 128 km/h
Holland Rock = 117 km/h
Grey Islet = 113 km/h
Rose Spit = 107 km/h
Sandspit = 100 km/h
Rain: kitimat = 120 mm
Terrace =70 mm
Stewart = 58.3 mm

Yeah, no biggie here though. Decent downpour for 15 minutes or so, then nothing again. A bit of wind. Nothing to write home about.
I honestly miss getting actual strong storms more often, like back in the Great Lakes area. The weather is boring here. haha ;)

The weather in the Okanagan (or most of southern BC for that matter) is probably the most boring in Canada. The stupid mountains block all the storms before they get here. About the biggest event we've ever had was that massive record setting snow dump back in January. And by massive, I'm talking 50 cm, which by Great Lakes standards is a picnic.

Ha! Except for the stupid mountains make a rainshadow effect and give us a fairly dry climate. Sure beats living through endless rain
