Heart Wrenching Fire

It was just a few days ago that someone tried to burn down the museum in Chase, and today we have learned that a second fire struck, but this time it burned down much of the town's museum and archives. Many historical artifacts and archives from the area are now likely lost forever. No one is speculating yet as to the cause.

What a sad and devastating loss.

It really is a blow to a community when things like this happen. But then, there are also people who will deliberately allow heritage buildings to be demolished without a second thought, too, and call it progress.

Oh I'm just sick. We love stopping at small town museums, all of them. What a huge loss for Chase, BCers and historian buffs around the world. I feel sorry for the families who have donated their heirlooms to that museum, thinking people will be able to see them forever.
