ya might check out some others barbie. For example in the BC Pellet industry, with a base rate of 2 dollars per $100 of payroll and a 50% reduction for good performance and a 100% surcharge for poor performance, that sector moved from $1.33 to $2.04 per $100 over just the last 3 years.
Edit to add: And then there is the forestry sector who must have made some safety improvements over the past 5 years in an effort to get their rates down. Nothing to do with the Liberal Government or WCB of course, just some performance improvements on the industry's part, for we see...
.....A couple of quotes from a National Post article in December 2005..
"Can you imagine what would happen if they started carrying bodies out of banks on stretchers? There'd be a national outcry, that's what. But because it's out here (in the woods) nobody notices" - Tree faller
"We have some serious problems ourselves We need to change the culture within Worksafe BC ...because of the terrible statistics coming out of there (the woods) we need to refocus on forestry." - Forest Compliance Strategy.
I suppose we can add workplace stress as an up and comer in that sector now, perhaps in spades. Lots of potential WCB premium increases due to poor performance against the new legislation to be had there I suspect LOL.

Ours has fallen from over 6% to 2.4% currently. That's a huge savings for our company.
Of course, Nab sees it all as a "cash grab."

Hmmmmm, the plot thickens ; -) Rude, foul, sexist, homophobe, racist, discriminatory, or union/socialist hating bosses or owners beware LOL. You are about to get a big red bullseye painted on your back by Christy's (new) Liberals.
Edit to add: And while the Greens and the NDP (nothing heard from the Conservatives on this yet) may be cheering them on, it ain't any of them wielding the paint and paintbrush.

People who suffer from post-traumatic stress or are victims of ongoing harassment, violence or bullying in the workplace, will be able to claim workers' compensation under proposed legislation.
