Some friends of mine who are on vacation in Hawaii just posted on FB that they have been forcibly confined to the lobby of their hotel to await further instructions as possible coastal evacuations are being considered

That's getting close to the second worst place we could have an earthquake next to Yellowstone Park. The potential force of either event would likely trigger the other one resulting in a supervolcano and monstrous earthquake off of our coast with the likelihood of more chain reactons. Every tremor in either region is a step closer and there aren't supposed to be too many steps left.

I was thinking about that too. This earthquake could have disrupted the fault line that could trigger the Big One. At the same time, there's also a possibility that this earthquake has eased tension on the fault line and could delay the Big One. I didn't know that the Big One could also cause the Yellowstone supervolcano to erupt though.

Global was reporting that too.

The actual number is 6 feet. Our newsroom will be updating that info right away.

I have been keeping up with the situation in Hawaii by watching this live coverage:
http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/category/198303/livestream

People that are in the low-lying areas that could be hit are being told to head for higher ground. Waves could be 3 to 6 feet high and are expected to first arrive just before 10:30pm local time
