In British Columbia, one lonely, relocated bull elk roams the wild, asking why he's been separated from his beloved.

"If you were there watching, it would be an X-rated movie. Several times a day," Messner added.

The Elk dominated the bull cows

A bull is male, a cow is female.

An unusual romantic relationship, for sure, but there is now a twist to this story; one cow is pregnant. It could not have been bred by one of the rancher's bulls because they were removed from the herd 14 months ago, and the gestation period is only 10 months.

The farmer is thinking the elk is the daddy, but the vet is telling him that it just ain't possible. The vet's theory is that a stray bull made his way into his herd 9 months ago. The cow is due next month.

From Merriam-Webster:

b : the mature female of various usually large animals (as an elephant, whale, or moose)
2
: a domestic bovine animal regardless of sex or age
