Banning smokers in public, yea or nay

On CHBC they talk about BC banning smoking in public spaces ex restaurant patios. Are you for or against it and why?

Not just ban smoking in public, ban cigarettes completely. Do smokers know how badly they stink even when they're not sucking one back? Especially when they smoke in enclosed places like their cars. It's disgusting.

Crooked... My profession brings me to work very close with the public. I can tell you there are way more offensive smells than smoke. Pot, Alcohol, BO, and the ever so popular douse you self with half a bottle of cologne or perfume. Now even imagine a few of these smells mixed together! You yourself might be on that list?

I agree...or how about the ever popular garlic? I smoke, and it is MY habit, not anyone elses. I do believe smokers can be a bit more smarter about their smoking...and move away from everyone to have a smoke. Just be a little polite about it....and we smokers may get less hassles about our smoking.......

As an ex smoker (almost 20 years) I really dislike the smell of cigarette smoke. But give the smokers a break fercryingoutlooud!
I used to enjoy a smoke after dinner and I don't begrudge anyone that.

I quit smoking 7 years ago, but I was then and am now tired of the anti-smoking crusaders. Live and let live - smoking outside doesn't bother anyone else at all...and as someone else said, lots of thing stink worse. I can't imagine many people in the anti-smoking gang attacking pot smoking with the same gusto, even though the worst component for one's health - tar - is far more predominant in pot. Ban Axe deodorant indoors if you want to stop obnoxious smells!

You said smoking outside doesn't bother people but it does depending on the circumstances. There's a distance one needs to be outside premises from a doorway etc. etc.

Stand outside in a city environment, and there will be many smells and fumes that we all can complain about. Smoke, whether from cigarettes or wood stoves is just one......

Not a smoker and I don't care if somebody does smoke BUT smokers do themselves no favours by tossing butts where ever and when ever.
What I really hate is the smell off a cigarette that somebody has butted out and put back in the pack! Yeck now that is nasty.
Pipe smokers, they are OK in my book. Smells good and no butts.
