Moose attacks police car
Moose attacks police car with Prince George Mountie inside
An angry moose attacked a Prince George police car early Thursday — with the RCMP officer inside.
The officer, parked at 17th Avenue and Juniper Street, was finishing reports when he spotted two moose wandering through the intersection at about 1 a.m. Attempting to stop approaching traffic, he started up the engine.
But the bull moose took the engine roar as a challenge.
The beast charged. It broke the front grill and bumper, then stomped onto the top of the vehicle, denting the hood, roof and cracking the windshield.
Snorting and kicking on the roof, the moose lost its footing and slipped. Its hoof shattered the driver’s side window, striking the officer in the process.
Declaring itself the winner, the moose then headed down the back of the vehicle, onto the trunk and onto the street.
He and his accomplice hoofed it out of the area.
The officer, who escaped the incident with a bruised shoulder, finished his shift and went home to recuperate.
Prince George RCMP are reminding the public to keep a safe distance from wild animals.
“Although they are likely more scared of people than we are of them, we believe our officer would disagree,” a police statement stated.

It was just an honest moose-understanding.

It must have felt weird for the cop to be the one being charged. Lesson learned: when you're in a running vehicle and a moose is coming at you, it's probably not the best idea to just sit there.
They say you can't believe everything they say.
