There is such a thing, as an albino rhino! Simple...why can a beer not be called that? It wasn't call "Albino Lady from Vancouver"....which I could see would be a problem!!!!! I believe this woman has an issue with HERSELF....and her albinism, why should that be a problem for society? This is a crock of "sh#t"....and has gone too far. .....in my opinion anyways.

When I first heard this, I was wondering why this woman felt the need to defend rhinos. Now that I know the story, I feel confident in assuring the woman that being an albino is not her biggest problem. :127:

Watch out, calling someone a "fat Kid" is somewhat offensive to goats.

Another less than stellar decision of our B.C. Human Rights Tribunal. I guess we can say goodby to Scotch Whisky, Russian Vodka and Jamacan Rum in the near future. Ridiculous.

How about Fat *bleep* Wine? http://fatbastard.com/ They had better rename it as it is going to offend half the population of Canada!

Earls should just start calling it "Whitey" bear and be done with it :dyinglaughing:

Seriously, what an absolute waste of tax dollars Human Rights Tribunals have become, and I warned everyone years ago ... it starts off by taking away Christmas Trees and its gonna end up by A&W having to rename their chicken because the Chubby Chicken made Chubby Chuck Chubby and now its offensive :dyinglaughing: :clueless:

This is one of the reasons I am waiting to see the BC NDP election platform. Their last one called for massive increases in the powers of the BC HRT and vast spending increases on moree bureaucrats to enforce useless crap like this. These kinds of powerful unelected tribunals are every socialist's wet dream.

I'm surprised Whitespot hasn't been forced to change their name yet.

Yep, and the Old Spagetti Factory is discriminating against the elderly. Mama Panda is making fun of mothers and comparing them to roly poly pandas. And the Chinese Laundry Restaurant? How is that not stereotyping the Chinese? And don't get me started on Hooters..... :127:

Seriously though, I don't blame Earls for not appealing. Anyone who has ever been involved with the HRT knows how stupid it is, and that it is a waste of money on the part of the business trying to defend itself. You can go through years and thousands and thousands of dollars in laywer fees for something as stupid as the name of a beer you sell. Why should they throw good money after bad?

:dyinglaughing: how did I know the number one "stupidity apologist" for the NDP would take the bait. It was actually the Green Barbarian who drew my attention to the NDP platform when he was having all kinds of fun with the NDP wanting to create some kind of "hate hotline", which I had to admit sounded like one of the NDP's dumbest ideas. And that's saying something given how many dumb ideas they have had.

So FF - here's some horsepucks for you:
http://www.integritybc.ca/wp-content/up ... rm2009.pdf

Go to page 30. In bold letters it clearly states the NDP intention to form a Human Rights Commission. That's another whole set of bureaucrats and MILLIONS more dollars of extra taxpayer cash to complement the cash already spent annually on the HRT.. all to investigate complaints about the name of beer on a menu. Do you feel silly now FF? You should.

But this is neither here nor there. As much fun as it is to make FF eat horsepucks, the big question is - will Dix be as dense as Carole James in 2009? If Dix wants to waste millions on hiring even more bureaucrats creating more useless government agencies to enforce fake human rights and make stupid rulings, that's reason enough not to vote NDP. We'll see now won't we.

Question? Has this success with the Human Rights Commission helped people that suffer albinism or hurt them? Although rare, I think most of us have come across someone with this condition in our lives and the emotional response illicited is one of compassion. It is for me anyway. After this media circus however, I think I am more likely now to recall this whole stupid escapade and be more likely to think negatively about them. Dunno but I think they may have hurt themselves more than they helped.
